What is your dream?

Written by Jo Lee | 12th November 2022

Such a great question to ask ourselves...

  • maybe you don’t have one

  • maybe you do but are too fearful to tell anyone

  • maybe you think it’s so tiny and insignificant, not to even bother

  • maybe you’ve just given up on it because it looks too hard, not knowing where to actually start

  • How about ‘what people will think of you’ if you go for it?

  • or maybe you don’t believe God is the God of the impossible?

Whatever your journey, God has a purpose and a plan for your life.  Every one of us has been created and designed for purpose, and the beautiful fact that each of us is different, unique and has been planned that way is surely exciting!

If you don’t have a dream, then start dreaming, I mean really start dreaming, go wild with this!  Imagine this… no restrictions whether that be money, time, resources etc and start dreaming with God.  Write it down.

Great questions to ask yourself...

  • What are your passions?

  • What would keep you up at night thinking about?

  • What are you good at?  (Bearing in mind this could be using new skills not just learnt ones)

  • What captures your heart?

  • What do you see in the world that needs help that touches your heart, that you could imagine being a part of changing?

  • What do others say your passions would be? (don’t be restricted or led solely by these though)

So.. imagine you have this thought, this idea, this dream you have dared to dream and the voice in your head throws out – ‘you can’t, you’re not good enough, you’re not skilled at, what will others say or that won’t work’.. (keep listening out for these, cause the enemy will try to stop Gods will and purpose over your life). You stop immediately and laugh (preferably really loudly) at any lies, fears, doubts and start declaring truth. (see lie buster blog for helpful hints!)

What is the truth?  Let’s look straight away to the word of God…

  • With God all things are possible.  Mark 10:27

  • I can do all things through him who strengthens me. Philippians 4:13

  • Commit your work to the Lord and your plans will be established - Proverbs 16:3

  • For I know the plans I have for you, says the Lord. They are plans for good and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope. Jeremiah 29:11

  • Now to him who is able to do far more abundantly than all that we ask or think, according to the power at work within us Ephesians 3:20

  • Delight yourself in the Lord, and he will give you the desires of your heart. Psalm 37:4

  • Blessed is the man who trusts in the Lord. Jeremiah 17:7

  • And we know that for those who love God all things work together for good, for those who are called according to his purpose. Romans 8:28

  • For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them. Ephesians 2:10

The word brings life hey!

So back to this thought, this idea, this dream... remembering with God all things are possible, and you start carving out how this could look like.  What I love at this stage is that we get to watch the beauty of God unfold in front of our eyes.  Barriers broken, paths made ready to journey down, and it’s not just ‘all sewn up’ and done.   This is all part of the adventure in front of us, it’s not just about the destination, it’s also about the journey.

During this journey we get to know God more, what he actually thinks of you, dreams released, fun had, relationship deepened, there is always more with Him.

For me,

My dream is to raise world-changers, my dream is to lead worship, my dream is to inspire and empower women to believe who God has made them to be, my dream is to change atmospheres wherever I go through seeing the gold in others, these are just to name a few - I could go on.

 ….What’s your dream?

Let’s do this

Have you been challenged to dream today? Your heavenly Father has a mountain of goodness for you and nothing is impossible for Him. So, dream big and wide and deep.

Become a dreamer …dare to dream.

Here is a fun song to start the dreaming
